Hi - I write to ask and maybe add somethink, I knew "Ronnie Argil Robinson" of "Grays Mallary" near Leanington Spa.
He had told me that his mother was Bird and his father was Robinson (as in Robinson Barly Water).
He showed me on one occation a photo of his Mother with her Bugatti race team.i think in the 1920's. he made a point of remarking that it was his mother's team.it was a great photo with 2 cars and the drivers macanices plus pit crew, evern all the tools where splayed out.the owner standinding in front of all dressed in 1920's cloths smoking a cigarett in a long holder.
i just thught to share that as i knew Ronnie and his mother was Bird,
regards Anthony

Hi Roz,
It may interest you to know that William Bird Brodie, born 1780, son of Rev Peter Belinger Brodie, was named after William Bird who was ordained in the same year as Rev Brodie and they were good friends.

Hi John

Thanks for posting this. Part of the reason we've been trying to get in touch is to invite your family as it is important to us to have family's involved in the process.

The website requires simple registration (free) because of the sensitivity of some of the information we hold. The family details are held privately. We would be very grateful if you could put us in touch with your family or yourself and we can provide more information on Dan's life.

Thanks for posting this message.

You mention the surname NASH. This was the maiden name of Eliza Laing who married my great grandfather, Thomas Macfarlane WATTERS, who were the parents of my paternal grandfather, Henry Nash WATTERS, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1879. Thomas was a 'Linen Warehouse Manager' at the time of the birth. It seems feasible that Eliza Laing WATTERS nee NASH, named their son (my paternal grandfather) Henry Nash WATTERS, to include some of her family names. I would love to see this family tree, which I am vaguely trying to visualize. I am fascinated to find out the information you mention of the NASH family, which I knew nothing about, except that Henry Nash WATTERS (called Harry) had a sister called 'Elsie', who married in Belfast into the SHAW family and had at least two sons, who joined the Royal Navy, one of whom was named Terence.

Whilst browsing to find out about my late paternal grandfather, Henry Nash Watters born in Belfast N Ireland in 1879, I came across the info on your site. My grandfather, as a young man, emigrated to the British colony of Southern Rhodesia in the early 1900s. He married Ethel May Coates-Palgrave. I know that he had a sister in Northern Ireland called, I thought, Elsie Watters, who married into SHAW family and had sons who joined the Royal Navy, one called Terence. My father's name was William Terence Watters, born in Southern Rhodesia in 1919. He survived WWII, but his brother, Patrick, born in 1914, serving with the South African forces, died in Italy. The son of Uncle Paddy (Patrick) Watters has two sons.

I am going to Northern Ireland next week on a short trip and thought it would be amazing to be able to meet any distant relatives.

Have removed the links to some details as they were no longer valid. Didn't add new ones as they pointed towards an IP address and not any adaptable DNS so possibly wouldn't really be relevant in the future. The link to the catalogue is fine though and searches on 'David Lyon' 1838-1841 will throw up the important results.
